Album Title: 4-Track Demos (1988-1989) Original Songs & Instrumental Music
At ages 18 and 19, I was learning the art of music production using a Vesta Fire MR-10 4-track cassette recorder. This album features 18 tracks (over 1 hour and 6 minutes of music) captured during that experimental era.
The Gear: I used an Alesis HR-16 drum machine and a Roland D-50 synthesizer. For the 1988 tracks, I played my Gibson Les Paul Custom (black/white/gold), and in 1989, I used my black Steinberger GL2T. Since I didn't own a bass guitar, I created bass lines by tuning my electric guitar strings lower and using a clean amplifier setting.
Musical Styles: Only the first two songs feature my vocals; the remaining 16 tracks are instrumentals. While some are rock guitar-driven, many feature the Roland D-50 Synthesizer as the lead instrument, layered with rhythm guitar and solos.
The Album Cover: The photo shows me performing with my rock band, BACK-STAGE, at a 9th-grade school dance. I am playing my Gibson Les Paul Custom on the school's stage, which was elevated about five feet above the dance floor.
What You Get: After your purchase, you will receive a ZIP file containing all 18 tracks in both WAV and MP3 (320kbps) formats with full tag information, plus the high-resolution 3000x3000px album artwork.
Album Title: Blue Sky by James Limborg and Steve Laws Anderson
The Collaboration: This album was created alongside my friend Steve Laws Anderson. Steve would provide a cassette tape featuring three distinct rhythm guitar chord groups. After listening to his ideas, I would then decide which specific group of chords to assign to the verse, the bridge, and the chorus, arranging these foundations into full song formats.
The Gear: I used an Alesis HR-16 drum machine and a Boss DR-660 Dr. Rhythm. The production features a Roland D-50 Synthesizer and my black Steinberger GL2T. I created the bass parts using either the Roland D-50 or a Peavey TL-5 five-string electric bass.
Songwriting & Vocals: Steve wrote the lyrics for "Sherman Oaks." I wrote the lyrics for "Into Your Heart," "Believe In Love," "How Come I Don't Have Anyone," and "I Can Wait (For You)." I created the melodies for all the lyrics, and it is my voice singing all lead and background vocals.
Recording History:
Gark Studios (Minneapolis): "Sherman Oaks" and "Taste The Loneliness" (Produced by David Pinsky).
Logic Productions: "I Can Wait (For You)" (Produced by Brian Bart).
Home Studio: "Blue Sky," "Into Your Heart," "Believe In Love," and "How Come I Don't Have Anyone" (Produced by James Limborg).
What You Get: After your purchase, you will receive 7 tracks (30 minutes of music) in both WAV and MP3 (320kbps) formats with full tag information, plus the high-resolution 3000x3000px album artwork.
